A STORY WITH ROOTS

The journey from the original 300 Pinot Noir has brought more vines and new varieties to the vineyard. In 2018, the acquisition of Broddarp Vineyard, nestled in the rolling hills of Bjäre Peninsula, provided Thora Vineyard with majestic 15-year-old vines of various varieties. Broddarp, initially a joint project involving the Alnarp Agriculture University at Lund, is a beautiful addition to our vineyard. Years to follow, brought 23,000 new vines of Solaris, carefully selected Pinot Noir clones, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier, to Thora Vineyard.

The dream doesn't stop here. Thora Vineyard planted 10,000 Chardonnay and Pinot Noir vines, as well as two exciting new grape varieties, Gamay and Chenin Blanc, in May 2022.   The summer of 2024 will bring the completion of a new, modern winery, restaurant Flora, and vineyard butik. Additionally, 18,000 new vines of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Solaris will be planted.

Our vision is to create the highest quality table wines and elegant sparkling wines from locally grown grapes handcrafted on Bjäre Peninsula, Sweden.

The Öberg  family discovered this traditional farm near Torekov and Båstad in 2014 when looking to establish a base for them, their four sons, two dogs, and extended family and friends. Through long walks and discussions about the future, the dream of growing vines and making wine came to view. A small winery was built, and the first 300 Pinot Noir vines were
hand-planted near the house to protect them from the northern winds during winter. These vines are the foundation for what is today Thora Vineyard.
