Johan & Heather Öberg
A shared love of food, wine, and adventure has shaped Heather and Johan’s journey. They met in California, became engaged in a vineyard in Santa Barbara, and soon after made their home in Sweden. Over the years, they’ve built a life inspired by family, travel, and a deep respect for craftsmanship.
A farmhouse on the Bjäre Peninsula gave shape to their dream: to create wines rooted in place—handcrafted, made with care, and meant to be shared. Drawing on diverse careers and life experiences, they founded Thora Vingård as both a vineyard and a community—one that creates meaningful work, supports local life, and contributes to a vibrant, year-round Bjäre countryside.
Emma Berto & Romain Chichary
French oenologists Emma and Romain met during their studies in Montpellier, brought together by a shared passion for wine and viticulture. After gaining experience in renowned French regions such as Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Saint-Nicolas-de-Bourgueil, and Alsace, they bring both technical expertise and a strong commitment to sustainable practices.
Drawn by the challenge of the Scandinavian climate and its unique terroir, they joined Thora Vingård in 2021 to help pioneer high-quality winemaking in Sweden. Their wines are elegant and terroir-driven, capturing both the raw beauty of the Bjäre Peninsula and their refined craftsmanship. Working closely with founders Heather and Johan, they ensure each cuvée reflects the estate’s core values: precision, respect for the land, and a deep connection to the local community.
Tobias & Ulrica Millqvist
Partners in both life and gastronomy, Tobias and Ulrica Millqvist bring a legacy of culinary excellence and warm hospitality to Thora Vingård. Their journey includes acclaimed ventures on the Bjäre Peninsula, earning a devoted following for innovative cuisine deeply connected to the region.
At Flora, Tobias creates dishes that reflect the unique character of the local landscape and seasons—a philosophy known in Swedish as platsrelaterad matlagning—refined yet approachable, designed to delight everyone from casual lunch guests to fine-dining enthusiasts.
Ulrica is the soul of the dining experience, ensuring every guest feels welcome and cared for. She oversees the front-of-house, orchestrates events from intimate dinners to grand celebrations, and cultivates an atmosphere where food, wine, and community come together seamlessly.
Daniella Lundh Egenäs
A sommelier, wine writer, and educator, Daniella brings experience from acclaimed restaurants such as Frantzén and Agrikultur. At Thora Vingård, she oversees the wine program at Flora, as well as the vineyard’s marketing and export.
She has worked harvests in Swartland, studied viticulture at SLU, and completed an intensive winemaking course at Plumpton College. Currently, she’s finishing the WSET Diploma at the Weinakademie in Austria. Daniella also serves on the board of the Swedish Sommelier Association. Her loyal dog, Bruno—an Aussie/Border Collie mix—can often be seen by her side (though never in the restaurant).
